“The Adventures of Lowly Worm” - Richard Scarry

Language of book for review: English

A collection of stories centred around Lowly Worm from Richard Scarry’s Busytown. Some stories extend on each other and tell a bigger continuous story. While others are stand-alone little readings about Lowly, Huckle and the Cat family.

In traditional Richard Scarry style, the images seem from older times, however the stories being told are captivating as ever. Lowly Worm lives with the Cat family in Busytown and enjoys multiple adventures with his best friend Huckle. They visit a fair in town, they travel to the big city and Lowly even gets his foot broken. Well, at least the imaginative humanised version of Lowly Worm, haha.

Our child loved the book from start to finish and could read it over and over again. The big format of the book makes it a “read-together” activity with lots of pointing and discussing details.
