This is a non-fiction book giving a first introduction to stars and planets. It covers the day/night cycle, the moon and sun, other planets - including a big extendable double page with all the planets of the solar system, as well as constellations and other flying objects that are visible in the night sky.
It’s not the deepest dive into the topic, but a first glance into the world of stars and planets. So, be prepared to get more detailed material if your child is more interested. For us, it worked well many times until there was a real spike of interest into planets.
In our book, the page about the moon phases is flawed in two ways. They are displaying sparkling stars in front of the moon while it is in the waxing and waning phases. The explanation for the crescent is also misleading.
