The continuation of the Gruffalo… how does the Gruffalo myth hold up in the next generation? Will its child follow in its footsteps? How will it be?

Naturally, the Gruffalo’s child has heard about the worst mouse-monster that ever existed in the forest. And until now, the child has never encountered it herself. The child’s curiousness brings it to leave the snoring dad behind to search the forest for the tale of the monster-mouse. Will the little one find the mouse?

Here, the clever mouse is described from the perspective of the Gruffalo and it is interesting how the Gruffalo’s experience grew into something enormous over time. A clever way to start talking about how events and people can be perceived and how that might be different from their intention, and how memory can alter your perception too. An interesting and certainly growing topic for small children to tap into.

The wooden stick doll is a cute illustration detail, I absolutely adore.
