“The smartest Giant in Town” - Julia Donaldson, Axel Scheffler
Language of book for review: Brazilian Portuguese - “O Gigante mais elegante da cidade”
Published also in:
German - “Riese Rick macht sich schick”
English - “The Smartest Giant in Town” (Original) | “The Spiffiest Giant in Town”
The giant George (or Rick or Jorge) is know in the city for his shabby clothes. When a new clothes shop opens in town, he treats himself to a nice new outfit - really smart with a shirt, tie, belt, trousers, socks and shoes. Proudly, he calls himself the smartest giant in town.
It is not long before he runs into characters that have a rough day. The giraffe has a cough, so the giant shares his tie with it to protect its neck. The story continues and the giant finds himself giving away his smart clothes to help others in need.
Another story from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler that wraps an important message into a child-friendly story in a fun and entertaining way. While the giant might lose all his smart clothes he bought for his own pride, he was able to help others in need and gained friendships for life.
