Winter is here and the bear is very clever. He knows it's time to take a long, tiring nap. While he's getting ready for bed, he meets Lia. She's sad because her favourite tree has no more leaves. Instead of going to sleep alone, the friendly bear takes Lia on his back, which is as warm as a summer hug. Together, they go to see the last colourful leaves on the trees and play with the falling snow, which dances gently under the sun, moon and stars.

The next morning, the bear is very tired and wants to sleep, but Lia knows that he needs to do one last thing that will make him happy.

Stephen Michael King, the author, uses drawings that look simple but show a lot of feeling. ‘A Bear and a Tree’ tells a beautiful, magical winter story from the imagination of this beloved, award-winning author.
